WGC Training Opportunities

We would like to invite pilots looking for training opportunities in the Czech Republic before the WGC to two competitions that will be taking place in 2025 before the WGC:

Czech & Slovak National Gliding Championships that will take place in Havlíčkův Brod (LKHB) from 22.5. to 31.5.2025. The championships si open to all international participants.

AZ Cup that will take place in Zbraslavice (LKZB) from 17.4. to 26.4.2025. Zbraslavice will also be the location of the WWGC that will take place there later in the year.

Both competitons offer the oppurtunity to fly in the same competition area that will be used for the WGC.

The registration form for all pilots and team captains will open soon in the first half of January.

Based on the expected number of participants, we will be raising the maximum number of entries to 140 while maintating the limit of 50 competitors per class. This is subject to IGC Bureau approval.

In the mean time, the whole organising team wishes you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

First Information

Welcome to the official website of the 39th FAI World Gliding Championships that will take place at Tábor Airfield between June 7th and June 21st, 2025.

Please find all initial information in Bulletin No. 1 which is available in the DOCUMENTS section, where you will also find all of the future documents.

Entries will open by the end of the year and all entries are due by February 28th, 2025. Entries need to be submitted using a form on this website. To confirm the entry, each NAC needs to complete a NAC Nomination Form and submit it by email before February 28th, 2025.

Alongside the official entry, each NAC needs to report the expected number of entries by email before December 15th, 2024. We expect the number of entries to exceed the current maximum, but we would like to accommodate all interested pilots. For this reason, we need to know the expected numbers as soon as possible to apply for an exception from the IGC Plenary. Any increase to the maximum number of entries is subject to IGC Plenary approval.
