Competition Day Cancelled

This morning began with optimism, as forecasts suggested the passing front might clear early enough to allow for an afternoon window of flying. Hopes were high—but unfortunately, the front moved slower than expected. By noon, with sign of improvement too late in the afternoon, all tasks were officially cancelled. As our meteorologist put it, “the miracle didn’t occur.”

Still, the day was far from lost! Pilots and crews quickly shifted their focus to preparing for tonight’s much-anticipated International Evening, starting at 18:00 in the main hangar. The campsite has been buzzing with activity for hours already, with tables, decorations, and delicious smells beginning to fill the air.

This beloved tradition gives everyone the chance to share food, drinks, and culture from their home countries—and we can’t wait to sample all the specialties. A grounded day, perhaps, but certainly not a quiet one!

Soutěžní den zrušen

Dnešní ráno začalo optimisticky, protože předpovědi naznačovaly, že by se přecházející fronta mohla rozplynout dostatečně brzy na to, aby se dalo odpoledne závodit. Bohužel se fronta ale pohybovala pomaleji, než se očekávalo a v poledne, kdy se náznaky zlepšení objevily až na příliš pozdě odpoledne, byly všechny tratě oficiálně zrušeny. Jak řekl náš meteorolog, „zázrak se nekonal“.

Přesto nebyl den zdaleka ztracen! Piloti a posádky se rychle přesunuli k přípravě na dnešní dlouho očekávaný Mezinárodní večer, který začne v 18:00 v hlavním hangáru. V kempu to už několik hodin hučelo, stoly, výzdoba a lahodné vůně plnily vzduch.

Tato oblíbená tradice dává všem zemím možnost podělit se o jídlo, nápoje a kulturu ze svých domovů – a my se nemůžeme dočkat, až ochutnáme všechny speciality!
